Launching this summer, the course draws from numerous philosophies and modalities to create a recognized standard for quality birth assistants trained to support the midwife and family during labor, birth, and the postpartum period. The program is designed to provide birth centers with certified birth assistants who are specifically trained in the midwifery model of care in the out-of-hospital setting.
